R. Baker & Son All Industrial Services (R. Baker & Son) recently completed the demolition of three (3) Liquid Nitrogen Gas (LNG) vaporizers including piping, conduits and selected foundations at an active LNG facility in New Jersey. Large energy services client assigned R. Baker & Son for its exemplary safety record, an expert in selective demolition services and competitive prices.

The evaporator was arrested in spring 2008. The pipes were previously flushed with nitrogen and the customer safely. The evaporator is also confirmed asbestos.

Before the demolition and removal operations, R. Baker & Sons has worked with the client representative is required to separate caps and solder, to divert the pipelines, and to isolate mechanical systems from the existing evaporators. It was also part of hydrostatic testing of newly installed pipes and valleys, and certification of welding (100% Radio graphically). In addition, to obtain all permits local and state requirements for the job.

Because of the proximity of active measures were strict security measures are implemented. These security procedures include

• A contract was signed with the security policy for each employee before beginning work. • Daily “tail board” talks were security workers from work-related issues such as data sheets, safety, hand tools, welding flash, using combustion, fire extinguishers, ladders, etc. • No smoking given throughout the system • U. L. approved fire extinguishers and fire hoses with nozzles to protect the premises and equipment. • The temporary fences, barricades, security lights, traffic control, etc. have been used to secure the work area. • All access roads to emergency equipment at all times remain open. • All fire hydrants accessible and usable remained during the entire demolition process. • area burn test was conducted early in the day and the day • Since the plant in mid-LNG plant is operating assets withdrawn, no equipment, tubes, rods, etc. may fall would lead to vibration Nearby resources. All materials must be carefully lowered to the ground by a crane or heavy equipment.

Once the evaporator has been isolated, R. Baker & Son began the demolition of these points. The typical procedure for the demolition of each evaporator is the ability of the first cut, the legs of the evaporator. A backhoe was used with 75,000 lb thrust with rigging carefully lower each evaporator in a controlled manner on the ground. Once on the side, he would be moved to the staging area adjacent to the cutting scrap with the shovel attachment shear.

After the destruction of the evaporator and the cables and conduits has been completed, continue with R. Baker & Son with the concrete work. The main concrete foundations are required to be ready for classification. The foundation was to remain, but requires that all surface projections such as anchor bolts and grout, which must be removed to create a smooth, flat surface. In addition, foundation support pipes are one foot below the soil removed. Cavities by removing the concrete foundation has been created, filled with ¾ size clean stone. The final result was obtained for the same area with 4 inches of ¾ inch stone cleaning stone of existing fields.

Large Hospital Demolition Completed by R. Baker and Son in Nyc

R. Baker & Son All Industrial Services, a company specialized provides a complete removal of the factory, demolition and deconstruction, has recently completed eight (8) phase, highly technical, demolition and environmental project d reorganization in Kings County Hospital, located in Brooklyn, New York.

R. Baker & Son All Industrial Services, Inc. (R. Baker & Son), commissioned by the client, a turnkey package complete, which was to remove all asbestos containing materials, demolition of three (3) Multi PROVIDE — storey buildings (one building with 5 floors and 100,000 SF 20,000 SF two 1 floors), the elimination of all pipes, cables and other services connected by a tunnel underground utilities, demolition of all concrete slabs and foundations, removal of underground storage tanks and a tank above ground storage, and reclamation and backfilling of the area.

Before the work several pre-demolition and reduction functions performed are required to be completed by. All tools have been suspended from the building and temporary power lines and water have been installed to facilitate the work. A technical study has been completed OSHA requests and receive all permits. Universal wastes (mercury switches, ballasts, fluorescent tubes were collected, etc.), labeled containers and shipped offsite for recycling rules. Proper sidewalk bridges, gates and fences were installed to protect public structures and surroundings. Scaffolding has been installed around the entire 5-storey buildings, including the penthouse. The framework is composed of two members of lumber with 2 layers of debris clearing.

Demolition and reducing means and methods were carefully evaluated on the basis of several technical factors. Because of the proximity of surrounding buildings (less than 40 m) and the public sidewalks, buildings are required to be examined carefully, with the artisan methods of demolition. In addition, there were flashes that went through the walls and seal the asbestos to asbestos on the edge beams.

To determine how the safest and most effective for the project, R. Baker & Son use the services of a licensed professional engineering to meet several technical analysis functions. The engineer evaluated the structural integrity of the building in relation to the proposed method of demolition and contamination assessment of soils for different pieces of demolition equipment (skid steer loaders and machinery demolition Brokk robotics ). The use of the technical report and the contributions of R. Baker 's demolition of internal specialists and asbestos abatement, it was decided to perform the work in a phased approach, from top to bottom and working conditions. This top-down and a gradual approach is also consistent with variances NYC and assured that the building has remained stable throughout the whole process, not that any temporary bracing or relocation.

The phased approach to work has been closely coordinated, allowing reduction and demolition waste will be carried out simultaneously. Working from the roof, the demolition crews would remove all movable objects in the story, including desks, cabinets, partitions, etc. Once a floor has been completed, the type of cutting crew, then reduction complete all non-friable asbestos containing materials (ACM). The demolition team then remove all the drywall and ceiling, so that the reduction in staff vote to reduce correctly to the friable asbestos materials (most) could pipe insulation. The omission of the staff then returned to remove all other components and construction beams that suspend sealing MCA was required to be removed. Finally, when all the MCA has been steadily decreasing, were the teams of demolition Back to the top of the building to be destroyed manually on each floor.

The demolition squads used different tools to carry out the demolition, and specialized equipment including a skid steer with demolition demolition hammer and bucket attachments Brokk 90 and hydraulic hammers. The material was removed from the building through the elevator shaft, and fire debris outside the building.

Started According to the regulations of the NYC, mechanical demolition, once the structure was demolished in the hand than two storeys in height. R. Baker & Son 100.000 + used several large hydraulic excavators with demolition attachments (hammer, pliers, demolition) fine other parts of the main building and two smaller 1 story buildings. Caterpillars, compact loaders and front loaders have also been used to facilitate the demolition, sorting and loading effort.

After the building was demolished in class, the slabs were demolished and the foundations of the sub-floor main building as well. Caution was taken not to destroy the sidewalls as these concrete structures necessary for the prosecution could provide support to the surrounding soil (near walkways or structures at risk if transferred to the earth). Once the slab and foundation were removed, geotextile was then installed with a layer of gravel. The remaining part of the subfloor was backfilled with clean fill condenses back to the initial level.

The UST and one AST also demolished and removed from the site. The tanks were properly drained and cleaned prior to excavation or removal. The tanks were then cut on site using an excavator with shear system and sent offsite for scrap recycling.

The project was completed in 12 months without incident or injury.
